Surfing is the biggest board sport on the planet, with more than 40 million athletes worldwide, who are needy of information about their performance.
With Opifex, a telemetry equipment that can be easily installed on the surfboard and a mobile app, surfers know in details their performance for each wave they surf. The equipment receives, stores and sends information about the board’s moves, that can be seen in real time or afterwards on mobile devices. As well as runners, who always use monitoring devices such as watches and bracelets, surfers also want to monitor and plan their activities on the sea.
This technology was achieved through several years of research and development, that resulted in an invention that exclusively and efficiently solves the problem of measuring the surfer’s and surfboard’s movements, on a surface of water and spatially. This solution is exclusive and registered worldwide, and goes way beyond the GPS devices.
